Date & Time: Saturday, February 8th, 4pm-6:30pm
Location: Idyllwilde, 1148 N. Wood Ave. Florence, Alabama
Description:
You’re invited to the first guest workshop at Idyllwilde! The new Idyllwilde studio and shop is a beautiful, light-filled space in 7 Points, Florence, Alabama. In addition to my dye and hand stitch workshops I’m thrilled to invite guest artists and artisans to share their knowledge with you.
This workshop will be led by Abbie Hyche, our local advocate for native plants, artist and leather artisan.
Explore the art of leather craft by making a dog collar for your four legged friend. Learn the beauty of old world leather and walk away with a ready to wear dog collar and skills that you can apply to future projects.
Abbie will provide pre cut leather straps, hardware and all other supplies and tools needed. We'll use vegetable tanned leather for these collars; they will darken with time to a deep brown.
What you’ll learn:
Basic leather working skills of cutting, punching holes, attaching buckles and setting rivets. You’ll have the option to stamp patterns into the leather or embellish with rivets.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Prior to the workshop you’ll need to measure around your dog's neck (circumference). We’ll email you detailed instructions on how to take this measurement accurately. Bring that measurement to the workshop and, additionally, Abbie suggests that you bring an existing collar for reference - to get the best fit.
Cost: $60.00
Includes all materials + bubbly, beverages, and tasty treats.
